April'13, 1976 <br />Page 3 <br />Public Relations and Education <br />Mr. Al Stivers showed the Commission a layout of the Auto Tour <br />Map which Crumlish/Sporleder & Associates had drawn up. Mr. <br />Smith suggested that mention should be made in the text that <br />some superior homes in the survey were not included on the map, <br />and also possibly some thanks to those who consented. Mr. Oxian <br />suggested that an asterisk be placed next to those homes which <br />have been designated as historic landmarks. <br />Ms. Davisson informed. the Commission that the copies of 8 or 9 <br />of the papers from Dr. Fern's American Art History class were <br />given to the office for their files. <br />Mr. Smith submitted a letter which was received from Ron Golden <br />to Mr. Al Stivers for review. <br />Mrs. Sporleder spoke about the possibility of printing a pamphlet <br />and showed various examples of what had been done in this area <br />elsewhere. She mentioned that it was something the Commission <br />could look into after the City Survey is completed. <br />Historic Landmarks <br />Mr. Oxian made a motion that the home at 11518 Adams Road be <br />designated as an historic landmark by ordinance. Mr. Rothermel <br />seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. Mr. Oxian in- <br />formed the Commission that this used to be the Norgren home but <br />is now owned by Mr. and Mrs.,-Charles Gollatz. Mr. Oxian also <br />discussed the Odd Fellows Building and felt the Commission should. <br />contact John Brad.emas regarding this matter. He felt the Commis- <br />sion should consider some commercial buildings for designation. <br />Legal Committee <br />There was no report from this committee at this time. <br />Presidential Retort <br />Mr. Smith reported that he had been invited to participate <br />on a panel for a preservation workshop held in Indianapolis. <br />He further reported that he had spoken to Mr. Cloud.regarding <br />the grant of $5,000. He then discussed the Leeper Bridge and <br />remarked that Mr. Richardson is sympathetic with the cause of <br />the Commission and that something would be done about the bridge. <br />Consultant's Report <br />Mr. Rinderle asked that the name, "Consultant's Report ", be <br />changed to "Staff Report" which was granted. He then informed <br />the Commission that Dr. Tom Schlereth of Notre Dame will allow <br />an interne to do historical reseaxch for the Commission this ._ <br />fall semester. He also mentioned that students would be avail- <br />able to fix up the log cabins that were inventoried on the County <br />
