Correspondence <br />Mrs. Lois McMahon presented a letter from Mr. Hojnacki re- <br />garding the appointment of Ms. Patricia Osmon as Director of <br />'Community Affairs for the City of South Bend. An announce- <br />ment from the National Trust regarding a European Tour was <br />next submitted, and duly noted. Mrs. McMahon also submitted <br />a brochure announcing an annual workshop on the Public Re- <br />lations of Preservation sponsored by the National Trust and <br />held at Tarrytown, New York on November 13, 14, 1975. Mrs.— <br />McMahon stressed that this would be a most worthwhile work- <br />shop inasmuch as it will deal with community relations and <br />public affairs. She hoped someone of the Commission would <br />participate at this workshop. A letter from Congressman John <br />Brademas.regarding Federal assistance to aid in the preserva--- <br />tion and reuse of historic railroad stations was likewise—sub- <br />mitted. According to the letter, the funding is still un- <br />certain. Senators Birch Bay 'and Vance Hartke also wrote <br />regarding this matter and these communications were noted by <br />the Commission. <br />8. Committee Reports <br />Budget and Finance <br />The budget submitted to the St. Joseph County Council was <br />approved without any problems. The Commission had asked <br />for $11,355. for the fiscal year 1976. The Council approved <br />a budget of $11,425, which is the same as this past year. <br />The city, however, did not approve any part of the Commission <br />budget submitted. <br />Historic Districts <br />It was stated that the report from the Area Plan Commission <br />made earlier at this meeting covered the revision of the <br />Historic District ordinance. <br />Legal <br />It was suggested that a request be made to'Mr. Jack Dunfee <br />to appear.before the Commission on the third Monday of the <br />month or some alternate time convenient for him. <br />Historic Landmarks <br />Mr. Oxian stated that Ms. Joanne Sporleder and Mrs. Lois <br />McMahon had worked on a landmark classification dividing — <br />proposed structures into Group A, B, and C. These classi- <br />fications would give a proper designation for historic <br />landmarks. It will be reviewed at the next meeting of the <br />Landmarks Committee. Copies of these classifications were <br />sent to John Oxian and to Russell Roth ermel. <br />
