Mr. Oxian stated that he would talk to Mr. Smith and inform him of the Commission's decision and they would decide how best to approach Cruml.ish/Sporleder. Mr. Nimtz then had to leave the meeting. Kresge -Union Station Resolutions Mr. Oxian read a letter that he wrote to Mr. Roger Parent, dated March 24, 1975, and Mr. Parent's response. Mr. Parent stated that the two resolutions concerning the site of the Kresge Building and the Union Station would be placed on the agenda for the April 21st meeting of the South Bend Common Council. Humanities Meetings Report Ms. Davisson reported on the speakers that are scheduled be present at the next ICH meeting in the Chapin Park area on April 21st. She then urged all Commission members to be in attendance. Ms. Davisson next distributed a public relations statement that she and Mr. Oxian, and later Ms. Schlereth, had worked on. After the last meeting in Chapin Park, Ms. Davisson stated that there appeared to be a need for some simple state- . ments about the Commission and historic preservation zoning. - Under the terms of the ICH grant, this type of position statement could not be paid for with ICH funds, so Ms. Davisson moved that $74.00 be allocated to pay for the printing and distribution of this public relations staement in - the Chapin Park and West Washington areas prior to the future ICH meetings. (Statement attached) Ms. Woolridge seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. Historic Preservation Week Mr. Oxian stated that Ms. Price had asked him about the possibility of the HP Commission designating as historic landmarks the build- ings that Southhold plans to conduct a photographic survey of, and coordinate this with HP Week. Ms. Davisson stated that as the Commission now had pending before them procedures to be employed for the designation of historic landmarks, it would be unwise - to act on so many buildings before these procedures were- estab- lished. The Commission concurred and the matter was tabled. Public Relations Ms. Davisson moved that since Mr. Oxian is often approached by one television station to report on the Commission meetings, and since this might afford the Commission more publicity, that therefore he be authorized to report on each meeting to the television media with a statement prepared at the end of each Commission meeting and approved by the Commission members - before they leave. Ms. Sporleder seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.
