Main) <br />Business System <br />Sonny -Boy Sports Shop <br />Sweeney's Bar <br />Innwood <br />Oliver Building (theatre) <br />Katz Building (Colfax and Main) <br />Avon Theatre <br />Odd Fellows <br />Palais Royal <br />Kresge <br />These buildings were referred back to the Committee <br />to develop recommendations. <br />Mr. Oxian then proposed two buildings to be con- <br />sidered for landmark status: <br />Fire Station at 219 N. Hill Street, where <br />Marie Mellows Interiors is now located, and <br />220 W. A brief discussion of the two structures <br />ensued. <br />8. New Business <br />a. A proposal to rezone the property at 733 W. Washington <br />Street from "B" Residential to "C" Commercial, for use as <br />a dance studio, was considered. <br />Mr. Oxian moved that the Commission recommend: <br />1.) In construction of the off-street <br />parking area all major trees be pre- <br />served, the area be enclosed by natural <br />vegetation, and the surface treatment <br />be of crushed stone or brick. <br />2.) Any sign(s) meet with Commission ap- <br />proval, and will exclude, specifically, <br />any neon signs. <br />Mrs. Sporleder seconded the motion and it was passed <br />unanimously. <br />b. Mr. Oxian suggested that the Railroad station might be <br />donated to the Commission for possible re -sale and re- <br />habilitation. <br />Mrs. Davisson donated a copy of Ann Webster Smith's <br />"Federal Program for Assistance in the Adaptive Reuse of <br />Railroad Stations," for the Commission's library. <br />
