Discussion of Consultant's Proposals Ms. Schlereth discussed alternate methods of obtaining funding that she has been exploring. One option might be to have a private institution (i.e. -the., niversity of Notre Dame) develop a proposal for submittion to private foundations to accomplish both the county -wide survey and an in- depth study of the historical, environmental, economic and sociological dimensions of the area. Mr. Nimtz moved that the Executive Secretary and one member of the Commission open negotiations with the appropriate personnel at the University to ex" plore the possibilities of putting together such a proposal. Mr. Oxian seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. Mr. Rothermel suggested that there might be local foundation support that might find this type of proposal attractive. b. Cataloging Ms. Schlereth reported that there had been no re- sponse to the letter sent to Miss Marie Lawrence. Ms. Davisson suggested that another letter be sent. c. Stationary Ms. Davisson presented the mock-up that A-1 Printers had worked on. They stated that they could not get the desired results. Since A-1 has been been so long in accomplishing so little, Ms. Davisson sug- gested that the Commission have the second lowest bidder prepare a mock-up. The Commission members agreed, and Ms. Davisson said she would take the material to Rink Riverside to see what they could do. I - d. Indiana Committee on the Humanities Proposal No formal word has been received on action on the the Commission's proposal. e. Library Mr. Oxian donated a booklet on the Canference of Landmarks Commissions held in Cleveland, Oct. 1973.
