South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Annual Organizational Meeting - January 2, 1996
6. 1995 ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Mrs. Kolata noted that 1995 was a very NO REPORT WAS MADE AT THIS TIME
productive year and provided a summary
of Redevelopment accomplishments.
During the year we had our first land
sales in Blackthorn Corporate Park to J.
G. Sullivan Advertising. That building
is well under construction. We also sold
land to Peterson Engineering which has
not yet begun construction.
We accepted a bid from Sycamore Knoll
Inc. for a catering company which will
serve the corporate park, the golf course,
a potential hotel near the airport, and the
community at large.
We are working with The Stone Group
E regarding their purchase of land for a
series of office buildings and with The
Management Consortium for
development of a hotel overlooking the
golf course.
Staff worked with Bowne Printing, FDC
Graphic Films, Busk Brothers, and
Absorbtech to locate sites in the area.
These were not sites that we owned or
controlled, but we had a large role in
making sure they located into the larger
Blackthorn area.
Mrs. Kolata reported that, in terms of
public works, we completed Richardson
Drive to the east which serves Midwest
Embroidery, Crystal Mountain Water
and Tech Data, as well as nearly
completing construction of Richardson
Drive to the west which opens up land
1
ME
