VANK South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Regular Meeting - October 21, 1994
6. NEW BUSINESS (Cont.)
p. continued...
accordance with the Commission's
requirements that a proposal contain site
plans, schematic drawings, a construction
timetable, etc. He noted that the proposed
purchase price of $100 for the former PCFU
building includes the cost factors for moving
the building and demolishing the foundation
and filling it in.
Mr. Masters noted that Parcel 19 is in rough
condition. They received an estimate of
$12,555 for site preparation.
Mr. Masters suggested that symetry is
achieved by locating the Firefighter's
Federal Credit Union next to the new
Policemen's Federal Credit Union. The
Firefighter's Federal Credit Union has
approximately 1,900 members. The new
facility will be larger and the Firefighter's
Federal Credit Union will be able to provide
more services to their members than they
can at the present location.
Mr. Masters noted that Parcel 19 includes a
vacated alley. Alleys contain utility
easements. There is a 10" high pressure
NIPSCO gas line in that vacated alley.
There are three Ameritech telephone lines in
the vacated alley. Those utility easements
were not shown on the survey provided by
the Commission in the bid proposal. Mr.
Fuelling discovered the existence of those
utility easements.
Ef
