He is honest, straightforward, <br />dedicated, works incredibly long hours and <br />is constantly striving to learn more, do more <br />and solve new challenges. He respects his <br />staff and is respected by his staff, he <br />welcomes suggestions and ideas, fosters <br />creativity and his door is always open to <br />staff as well as to the public; and <br />WHEREAS, Jon is committed to making <br />South Bend an excellent place to live. In <br />order to accomplish this he never forgets the <br />public that he serves. He works to keep the <br />public informed and builds consensus to <br />achieve not "the City's " plan but "the <br />community's" plan. He is sensitive to both <br />business needs and neighborhood needs and <br />works to share his vision and build <br />coalitions of support. He encourages <br />diverse groups to articulate their goals and <br />incorporates these goals into community <br />consensus, and <br />WHEREAS, Jon R. Hunt was recently <br />awarded the Ivan H. Brinegar Municipal <br />Management Award by the Indiana <br />Association of Cities and Towns in <br />recognition of his dedication and his <br />accomplishments. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY <br />THE SOUTH BEND REDEVELOPMENT <br />COMMISSION, governing body of the City <br />of South Bend Department of <br />Redevelopment, that Jon R. Hunt be <br />recognized for his distinguished service to <br />M <br />
