NEW BUSINESS (Cont.) <br />C. continued... <br />labor and materials for construction of the <br />project. <br />Ms. Auburn noted that Joseph Walsh, <br />President of the Last Bank Business <br />Association sent the Commission a letter <br />asking that they not act on either proposal. <br />They favored a larger project. <br />Ms. Auburn noted that she had always <br />favored having an office building on that site <br />and would like to have that site developed <br />more than either proposal presently before <br />them. Since there has been sufficient time for <br />other proposals to come forward but there <br />have been none, she does not think we should <br />wait any longer. She has heard a lot of <br />support for developing this site as residential. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Donoho, seconded by <br />Mr. Sharp and unanimously carried,the <br />Commission awarded Disposition Parcel E3 -1 <br />to The Alexander Company for residential <br />development with the stipulation that they use <br />local labor and materials for construction of a <br />large portion of the project. <br />Mrs. Kolata noted that we have received a <br />proposal for part of Disposition Parcel 9 in <br />the Studebaker Corridor which is at the <br />corner of Garst and Main streets. The <br />proposal is from McClurg Leasing which is <br />tied to Wheel and Rim Sales Company, <br />-49- <br />COMMISSION AWARDED DISPOSITION <br />PARCEL E3 -1 TO THE ALEXANDER <br />COMPANY FOR RESIDENTIAL <br />DEVELOPMENT WITH THE STIPULATION <br />THAT THEY USE LOCAL LABOR AND <br />MATERIALS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF A <br />LARGE PORTION OF THE PROJECT <br />
