South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Regular Meeting - May 21, 1993
6. NEW BUSINESS (Cont.)
a. continued, ..
public hearing, to fight their fight on Riley in
front of the Commission. I, quite frankly,
don't think that there has been a member of
the Commission who has even talked to any
of the School Board members and I think that
you (the Commission) won't step forward and
say that out of politeness, but I will. The
idea that an elected School Board (and they
are now elected, not appointed) will simply
fold up when somebody, another elected
official, talks to them, is just false. I mean
they are elected officials, adults, they can
make their own decisions.
MS. AUBURN: Is there anyone else who
wants to be heard? I would like to thank the
members of the public that came to the
meeting and spend some time with us. I
know this is not always the most convenient
time to take off from work and to participate
in the process, but the Commissioners truly
appreciate your time.
Ms. Auburn closed the Public Hearing for
whatever action the Commission desired to
take.
Mrs. Kolata noted that Resolution No. 1154
modifies and confirms Resolution No. 1151.
The modifications are to the plan. It is not
different in content. The changes were
mostly typographical and grammatical. The
content is identical.
-43-
