Continued... <br />Mr. Pitts explained that the original deadline <br />for completion of the State Theater roof <br />repairs was September 30, 1986. The <br />contractor, Slatile Construction, has <br />indicated that they will not be able to meet <br />this deadline due to some technical <br />requirements for the reroofing. There was <br />considerable testing that was required prior <br />to ordering the materials. The materials are <br />now in and Slatile Construction is estimating <br />that roof repairs will be complete within ten <br />(10) days dependent upon the weather. They <br />are sking for an extension to October 25, <br />1986. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Combs, seconded by <br />Mr. Piasecki and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission approved the request to extend the <br />contract deadline with Slatile Construction <br />for the State Theater roof repairs to October <br />25, 986. <br />Mr. Hunt noted that Mr. Donoho had previously <br />asked the staff to have the bids set up so <br />that the warranty could be put in place after <br />the roof was put on. This request was <br />discussed with the Engineering Department and <br />it was determined that we were unable to have <br />this type of warranty due to the type of <br />testing that the manufacturer requires. The <br />guarantee and warranty must be secured prior <br />to beginning construction. <br />d. Report on receipt of proposals received on <br />September 15, 1986 for lease of the State <br />Theater storefront. <br />Mr. Pitts reported that two proposals were <br />received for the leasing of 216 S. Michigan <br />Street. One proposal was received from Yogi's <br />Yogurts who estimate employing two <br />individuals.
