South Bend
Regular Me,
6. NEW BU
d. Co.
elopment Commission
— September 26, 1986
( font . )
The other proposal was received from the
Pretzel Palace, one of the current street
vendors located on S. Michigan Street, who
estimate employing three individuals.
Bo proposals are food service orientated and
bo propose similar types of business
ope ations. However, there is a variation of
circumstances on the Pretzel Palace. They are
presently an existing downtown business, but
due to the improvements on Michigan Street,
the must relocate from their present site.
The staff recommendation is to award the lease
to the Pretzel Palace due to the circumstances
forcing them to relocate. The Chair observed
their senority also due to the number of years
the have been in the downtown area.
Upon a motion made by Ms. Auburn, seconded by
Mr. Combs and unanimously carried, the
Co mission accepted a proposal from the
Pretzel Palace for the lease of the State
Theater storefront subject to meeting the
nec ssary health and code requirements related
to this building.
e. Comaission a2proval requested for improvements
to Parcels E2 -15 and E9 -11 within the South
Ben Central Development Area.
Mr. Hunt noted that there are two parcels in
the East Bank area that the staff is
reccmmending for some minimal clean -up. The
improvements would include some grading and
seeding of two lots which were formally the
Lu r Beverage and Crescent Electric lots.
LM
the
in
1
4atthews explained that two proposals were
ived from Country Garden Landscaping in
mount of $3,630.00 and Paul's Landscaping
ze amount of $1,158.00. The staff is
amending that the Commission accept the
3t bid from Paul's Landscaping.
-5-
COMMISSION RECEIVED REPORT ON
PROPOSALS RECEIVED SEPTEMBER 15,
1986 FOR LEASE OF STATE THEATER
STOREFRONT
