Hunt, Director Department of Economic Development From: Sandra Parmerlee, Clerk Board of Public Works Re: Avon Theater Brick Veneer - Bid Openings Date August 5, 1986 The Board of Public Works at their meeting held today received the attached bids for the Avon Theater brick veneer project. This is being referred to you for your review and recornmendation. Mr. iunt noted the following bids received: Rein-.e Construction in the amount of $75,886; Ziol cwski Construction in the amount of $48,580 with a $4,000 deduction alternate; Cast el Construction in the amount of $67,950; and, Slatile Roofing and Sheet Metal in the amouit of $73,100. After reviewing and disc ssing the bids with the City Engineer, John Leszczynski, it is the staff's reccimiendation that the Commission accept the Ziol owski Construction bid in the amount of $48,580 since it is the lowest and best bid. Upon a motion made by Mr. Combs, seconded by Mr. Donoho and unanimously carried, the Commission authorized the Board of Public WorkE3 to award a bid to Ziolkowski Construction Company in the amount of $48,680 for epair of the party wall on the Avon Thea er based on the recommendation.of the City Engineer based on the lowest bid. c. Hunt, Director Department of Economic Development -4- COMMISSION AUTHORIZED THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS TO AWARD A BID TO ZIOLKOWSKI CONSTRUCTION COMPANY IN THE AMOUNT OF $48,680 FOR REPAIR OF THE PARTY WALL ON THE AVON THEATER BASED ON THE RECOM- MENDATION OF THE CITY ENGINEER BASED ON THE LOWEST BID
