PROGRESSIREPORT (CONT.) <br />a. contlnuea... <br />Re de elopment Commission has offered for bid, <br />some are owned by the Board of Public Works, <br />and some are owned privately. <br />South Bend Heritage expects to build one house <br />to be used as a model home. Additional land <br />that they hope to bid and acquire will allow <br />for hine additional new homes. There will <br />still be additional sites available for new <br />home3. South Bend Heritage is also looking at <br />hous s to purchase for rehab. South Bend Heritage has <br />>lished a partnership with Monroe Park <br />_opment Corporation as a separate <br />>rofit organization which qualifies for <br />j Community Development block grant funds <br />3sist in the construction of the new <br />3. This is a neighborhood based <br />iization that is restricting its <br />Tities solely to the Monroe Park <br />lential area. Mr. Luecke stated that <br />)e Park Development Corporation is looking <br />Lrd to making a bid on the parcels going <br />)r sale by the Commission in the area. <br />i Bend Heritage Foundation will provide <br />Staff and resources of financing, <br />-ance, etc. Community Develoment's <br />-act for funds will be with the Monroe <br />Development Corporation. In addition, <br />i Bend Heritage is in the process of <br />Lning private construction loans and <br />jage financing with a local bank which is <br />Bey to moving forward on this project. <br />i Bend Heritage will act as general <br />=actor and solicit bids for the project. <br />
