Cormission authorization requested to petition <br />Ccm.on Council for real property tax abatement <br />for the southwest corner of Michigan and <br />Was inaton Streets. <br />Mrs. Kolata explained that this property is <br />the area where Redevelopment will be <br />constructing a parking facility in connection <br />with the Teachers Credit Union building. <br />Because of the nature of the long term lease <br />that the Commission has with Teachers Credit <br />n <br />Union for that parking facility, the property <br />may be subject to property tax and it will be <br />Teachers Credit Union's responsibility to pay <br />that tax. Teachers Credit Union has asked the <br />CormLission to support a petition for tax <br />abatement on that facility. If approved the <br />petition will be filed with the Common Council <br />for consideration. The petition will come <br />back before the Commission for review due to <br />its location within a Tax Incremental Finance <br />Are A. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Combs, seconded by <br />Ms. Auburn and unanimously carried, the <br />CormLission approved the request to petition <br />the Common Council for real property tax <br />abatement for the southwest corner of Michigan <br />and Washinqton Streets. <br />g.
