Piasecki and unanimously carried, the <br />Co ssion approved a proposal in connection <br />wi the Homestead Program for Natalie Brown, <br />114 E. Dayton, in the amount of $778.00. <br />c. CornTassion authorization requested for a join <br />res lution between the Redevelopment <br />Commission and the Board of Public Works <br />setting forth terms and conditions for the <br />development of certain real property within <br />the Central Downtown Urban Development Area. <br />Mr. Hunt explained that the real property <br />in lved is the lot behind the old Penney's <br />building that is presently surface parking. <br />The Commission took action in March passing a <br />res lution authorizing the sale of that lot to <br />the Board of Public Works with a long range <br />development of a municipal parking facility. <br />Following that action the Board of Public <br />Works also passed a resolution accepting the <br />property. This joint resolution is the next <br />step in finalizing the sale setting terms and <br />conditions for the development of the <br />DroDertv. <br />Ms. Schwartz further explained that the joint <br />res lution outlines a series of agreements <br />that have been worked out between the <br />Department of Economic Development and Board <br />of Public Works with regard to the kinds of <br />thi gs that might be happening on that lot. <br />Basic to that is the establishment of a <br />par<ing facility advisory committee consisting <br />of representatives from various relevant <br />bodies within the City who can bring together <br />the different points of view for the <br />development of an affective parking facility. <br />That group would consider a number of <br />different factors such as what type of <br />facility might be developed, what the mix of <br />fr parking for shoppers and long term <br />par ing might be, and the possibility of first <br />f 1 r retail development, to encourage further <br />retail, folding around from River Bend Plaza <br />on to Wayne Street.
