South B nd Redevelopment Commission <br />Special Meeting - December 9, 1981 <br />The survey work is to show property lines and <br />the locations of buildings and utilities with- <br />in the property lines. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. Robinson, seconded by <br />Mr. Cira and unanimously carried, the agree - <br />ments with Abstract and Title Company, Douglas <br />Pierce and Homer Fisher were approved. <br />d. Commission consideration requested for a tax . <br />abatement request relative to an area commonly <br />referred to as being in the 800 block of <br />Lincoln Way East Jeffrey S. Beardsley). <br />Mr. McMahon stated that the staff has reviewed <br />the tax abatement petition and finds the area <br />does qualify as an Urban Development area. The <br />total project cost is approximately $297,000.00, <br />the taxes paid if the abatement is granted would <br />be about $58,004.00 and the taxes abated over <br />the ten year period would be about $56,856.00. <br />Bernell Corporation currently employees 27 <br />people and expects to add 10 new employees. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Cira, seconded by <br />Mr. Donaldson and unanimously carried, the Re- <br />development staff report for the tax abatement <br />request of Jeffrey S. Beardsley was accepted <br />and sent to the Common Council with a favorable <br />recommendation <br />e. BEARDSLEY�WAS <br />SENT TO THE COMMON COUNCIL <br />WITH A FAVORABLE RECOMMEN- <br />DATION. <br />Mrs. Baumgartner explained that Michiana Remodeling had <br />previously been awarded three contracts and the Bureau <br />of Housing has been evaluating their performance on <br />those contracts. They are sufficiently into those con- <br />tracts to warrant the award of two additional contracts. <br />All of these are recommended to be awarded to the low <br />bidder. <br />
