South Bend redevelopment Commission
Regular Meeting - February 6, 1981
5. OLD BUSINESS
Mr. McMhon continues...
Hanifen Imhoff & Samford, Inc., who has been serving
as financial advisor, assisting us with respect to the
Tax Increment Issue. We have felt that it would be
in the best interest of our efforts in pursuing the
tax increment if we no longer continue utilizing that
firm. lie are currently reviewing other firms in con-
junctiop with providing us with assistance in develop-
ing the Tax Incremental packet. As you know, their
service have not resulted in any charges to the Com-
mission at this point in time, they were simply to be
extended some opportunities to underwrite the issue.
We have talked to.John Goema:ns with that firm and
they agree that it would be in our best interest to
pursue this activity with someone else and, as a
result, I would like permission from the Commission
to terminate that relationship. Sometime in the
near future I would hope we will be forthcoming with
a similiir agreement with another firm involved.
Mr. Nim z: I have discussed this informally with
various Members of the Commission. You recall the
main re son for picking this company was the one
gentlem n we have been doing business with and he
had changed companies, hadn't he?
Mr. McM4hon: He changed once.
Mr. Nim z: We moved with him, and from my understand-
ing he .s perfectly agreeable to this being terminated.
He is i Denver now, isn't that correct?
Mr. Butner: That is correct.
Mr. Nim z: I think the proper motion would be that
the con ract with Hanifen, Imhoff & Samford, Inc. be
termina ed. Do you think anything further needs to be
said, K vin?
Mr. But er: No.
Mr. Nim z: Do I hear such a motion?
Mr. Rob
between
velopme
and it
nson made a motion to terminate the contract
Hanifen, Imhoff & Samford, Inc. and the Rede-
it Department. Mr. Cira seconded the motion
ias unanimously carried.
5
CONTRACT WITH HANIFEN,
IMHOFF & SAMFORD, INC.
FOR PROFESSIONAL SER-
VICES RELATING TO TAX
INCREMENT ISSUE WAS
TERMINATED
