South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Regular Me ting —March 2, 1979
6. NEW BU INESS (Continued)
e. continued .....
Th original contract for 1036 N. Talbot specified repairs
to a rear porch - utility room. Because the homeowner now
intends to demolish this porch it was recommended that all
re ated specifications be deleted. During a` progress inspection
tha bureau observed that the homeowner was storing glassware,
cu - s and saucers on a kitchen table. Change Order #1 reflects
th se recommendations to delete repairs relating to rear porch
ani add to contract sufficient kitchen cabinets. Incorporated
is a minor counter top modification necessitated by the fore-
going. Change Order #1 nets a cost increase of $295.00.
Mr Donaldson made a motion to approve Change Order #1, with
Charles Brown Maintenance Co., Inc, for an increase in contract
price of $295.00, seconded by Ms. Auburn, and the motion was
unanimously carried.
f. Commission approval requested for Change Order #4, Charles
Brown Maintenance Co., Inc. for an increase in contract
pr ce of 1,808.00, at the address of 1306 E. Miner, as
s
etter
au of Housing.
Mr. James Harcus, Director
During a progress inspection of 1306 E. Miner Street, the
bureau was advised by homeowner that a substantial draft
resulted from voids between the foundation and the upper
st cture, and that the bathroom ceiling was now cracking.
Upon review of contract specifications we surmise that the
in pector who executed initial inspection intended to correct
draft condition via substantial "tuck pointing". An investi-
ga ion revealed the bathroom ceiling to be unsafe. Change
Order #4 deletes tuck pointing and the addition of insulation
an bathroom ceiling, increasing contract price by $366.00.
Mr. Donaldson moved for approval of Change Order #4, with
Charles Brown Maintenance Co., Inc. for an increase in
contract price of $1,808.00, seconded by Ms. Auburn, and the
motion was unanimously carried.
g.
