Redevelopm nt Commission Regular Meeting
September t5, 1978
6. NEW BU INESS (Cont'd) .
c. Commission approval requested for Change Order #1, Jurtin's
Corlsteuctioh CO:, for an increase of $436.00 (for an
amended contract total of 28,183.00 ), at the address of
50 East Milton, South Bend, Indiana.
Mr Harcus: As I wrote in my covering letter when the
contract was awarded, we immediately processed an emergency
repair because of the condition of the roof. When the
contractor arrived there, he found that two ceilings in the.
bedroom had been damaged by rain. We immediately processed
a change order and had it corrected. Last week we discovered
that the poor lady, because of the damage to the ceiling, was
sleeping on a living room couch. We received an estimate,
processed a proceed order, had it corrected, and within three
days, the lady is back in her bedroom. We hope you approve
of our expeditious action and look favorably upon the change
order.
Mr. Donaldson made a motion that Change Order #1, with
Jut-tin's Contruction Co., be approved for an increase of
$436.00, (for an amended contract total of $28,183.00),
seconded by Mr. Robinson and the motion was unanimously carried.
d. Commission approval requested for Chan a Order #1, Charles
Brown Maintenance Co., Inc. for a decrease in contract price of
6 2.00, for an amended contract total of $5,375.00), at the
ad ress of 416 E. Wenger Street, South Bend, Indiana.
Mr. Harcus: This is a Multi -Group activity, the Redevelopment
Commission through the property owner, the Southeast neighbor
center occupants, and the users of that center. The contract is
split in two or three segments and one of the segments, which has
be n given to Charles Brown, has been reduced by this amount
so that we can effectively use all the skills of the group.
Most of the reduction that you see here will be transferred to
a cifferent order going to the property owners at a later date.
Such is explained in my letter dated September 14, 1978, which
YOL should have.
Mr. Robinson made a motion for approval of Change Order #1, with
Charles Brown Maintenance Co., Inc. for a decrease in contract
price of $642.00, (for an amended contract total of $5,375.00)
seconded by Mr. Donaldson, and the motion was unanimously carried.
-5-
CHANGE ORDERS
APPROVED
