Mr. Brownell described Change Order #2 to Contract No. CS -3/10 with Plaia Construction Company, for an increase in contract price of $715.00 (for an amended contract total of $55,638.00). Change Order calls for installation of ceiling tile in the kitchen, 144 sq. ft. or $350.00. On the rear porch, installation of 3 risers, three cast steps, including 3 ft. metal handrail and replace the block support post footings ($421.00); for a total of $771.00 addition. There is also deletion of $56.00 for painting of the kitchen ceiling, for a net change order of $715.00. Mr. Wiggins asked if the leak occurred after he new bathtub was installed? Mr. Johnson replied, "no, the plumber had previously prepared the necessary drain under the tub to stop the leak." At this time Mr. Crighton spoke, "the reason for these many change orders is because the bidding procedure was changed. At times we were lucky to get six or seven a month awarded, and we had over eighty awarded in three months; that makes a rather substantial difference in he number of contracts that we are handling on a day to day basis. Our volume has increased, more than tripled." Mr. Wiggins moved approval, seconded by Mr. Donaldson, and carried. d. Mr. Brownell described Change Order #2 to Contract #CS -3/10 with tickler Plumbing for an increase in contract price of $115.00 (for an amended contract of $9,127.00). The change order asked for replacement of a water closet. Mr. Robinson moved approval, seconded by Mr. Wiggins, and carried. e. Mr. Brownell described Change Order #1 to Contract #NECD /2, with Owens Heating Company, for an increase in contract price of $100.00 (for an mended contract total of $8,800.00). This change order asked for I substitution of an oil furnace to replace a gas furnace at a cost f an additional $100.00, due to the fact that a gas furnace cannot be nstalled without the insulation. Mr. Wiggins moved approval, seconded v Mr. Cira and carried. f. Mr. Brownell described Change Order #1 to Contract #NECD /PR /CS -2/15, with Owens Heating Company, for an increase in contract price of $100.00 (for an amended contract total of $6,346.80). An oil furnace was to replace as furnace (as mentioned in 6.e. above). Mr. Robinson moved approval, seconded by Mr. Wiggins and carried. Ir. Brownell described Change Order #NECD /3B, with R. A. Stickler Plumbing, 'or an increase in contract price of $177.00 (for an amended contract total of $5,637.00). The change order is for removal of subfloor under :he bathtub and around the water closet. This will cost $89.00 and the iew soil line will cost $88.00, a combined total of $177.00.
