7. NEW BUSINESS (Cont'd
C )mmissioner Wiggins questioned the $175.00 to replace the stool
and flooring, as it states the water closet and floor must be re-
ved in order to run the proper supply line, so in order to put
ii the lavatory they will have to tear up the floor in any event.
S if they have this included in their figure they are in error.
Mr. Schaller advised it was not included in the original bid by
tie contractor to remove the stool to install the supply lines.
Tie contractor was originally going to run that externally around
tie baseboard; however, the homeowner stated she does not want it
r n that way and it is a very small bathroom.
Further conversations followed on the cost questioning the amount
a3 being high, and Commissioner Wiggins said that he can see it
u der those terms to tear up the floor and put in the supply lines
aid replace the floor -- especially in a small area - -as this gets into
a lot of time. The work goes a lot faster in a large area than
s metimes in a small area. It requires less material but is hard
t get at. These are installed prices. The cost of the fixture
i self would be no way near that cost.
motion by Mr. Wiggins, seconded by Mr. Robinson and carried,
e above Change Order was approved.
e. Can a Order No. 3 to Contract SECD /HR /CS -2/24, in Southeast
5mmunity Develo ment Housin Program: Approval was requested of
t is Change Order, for an increase in contract amount of $173.00,
oi HAO House #24, (located at 1311 Hine Street), increasing the
c ntract amount from $1,680.00 to $1,853.00, or an amended con -
t act total of $14,242.00, for Contract Set 2/18 through 2/53,
w.th Charles Brown Maintenance Service, in the Southeast Community
D velopment Housing Program.
1
u
Brownell read the memorandum from Mr. James L. Johnson, Jr.,
rich stated this Change Order is requested to correct water
!akage on structure #24. The contractor had called to request
its Change Order to alleviate the problem listed on the Change
•der. The specifications call for the installation of under -
Lyment and tile in the bathroom. By not correcting the leakage
,oblem, the underlayment and new tile will not hold up. A
•oceed Order was issued to correct this health and safety
•oblem. The itemized price on structure #24 will be increased
•om $1,680.00 to $1,853.00. The Change Order calls for the
)llowing:
Reseat toilet $ 35.00
Replace lavatory trap 30.00
Replace lavatory water fixtures 75.00
Reset lavatory to wall 25.00
Replace hinges on trap door in kitchen floor 8.00
Total ................ $173.00
C mmissioner Robinson asked if Charles Brown Maintenance Service
a tually is the employer who does the work or does he contract
t is work out?
