5. OLD BUSINESS (Cont'd <br />b. <br />& Sheet Metal Company, for an amended contract total of $5,082.00 <br />and amended contract set total of $41,312.00, with an extension <br />of contract time for the reroofing work. Motion was seconded by <br />Mr. Robinson and carried. <br />Change Order'No. 7 to Rehabilitation Contract No: SECD /HR /CS- <br />1/14: This item was also tabled from the last Commission meet- <br />ing in which the change order request was for an increase in <br />contract amount of $675.00, with Slatile Roofing & Sheet Metal <br />Company, for rehabilitation work at 1525 Swygart Avenue, for <br />Contract No. 14, (Contract: $4,316.00 to amended amount of <br />$4,991.00). Extension in contract time was also requested. <br />With the $730.00 total savings, on Item 5a above, the original <br />contract set amount is changed from $41;312.00 to amended <br />total of $41,987.00, in the Southeast Community Development <br />Housing Program. <br />Mr. Brownell said this again was on the matter of the reroof- <br />ing that was discussed in the last meeting. Mr. Schaller ad- <br />vised the request for the extension in time by the contractor <br />is only for the roof completion in above Item 5a, and 5b; all <br />the other work has been completed on these two jobs. <br />Mr. Wiggins moved for the approval of Change Order No. 7 to <br />Rehabilitation Contract No. SECD /HR /CS- 1/14, 'for an increase <br />in contract amount of $675.00, with Slatile Roofing & Sheet <br />Metal Company, for an amended contract total of $4,991.00 <br />and amended contract set total of $41,987.00, with an exten- <br />sion of contract time. Motion was seconded by Mr. Robinson <br />and carried. <br />6. NEW NUSINESS <br />a. Report on recommended guard rails at the Pedestrian Bridge <br />Site, P1a2a Park, Project Indiana R-66: Mr. Brownell displayed <br />blueprint drawings on the proposed guard rails that were sub- <br />mitted by Mr. Edwin. R. Bauer, Assistant Director, Department.of <br />Redevelopment. The design is a continuation of the design.on <br />he bridge, and is recommended by Lawson- Fisher Associates, our <br />ngineering consultants on the project. Mr. John Fisher and <br />r. Gerald C. Kinyon of the firm were present for the meeting. <br />he apparent need for additional guard rail protection at the <br />est end of the pedestrian bridge has been discussed in length. <br />he concrete abutment at the west end has been fitted with seat <br />alls without backs and could be considered of some danger for <br />hildren use. Approximately 45 lineal feet of railing would be <br />equired for this extra work. <br />r. Brownell explained that, on the areas adjacent to the <br />ridge, there is a wooden bench along the edge of the river <br />nd the drop -off is straight down 22 feet onto concrete abut - <br />ent.
