<br />Mr. Wiggins moved for the adoption of Resolution No. 529, seconded
<br />by Mr. Donaldson and carried.
<br />Change Order No. 2 to Rehabilitation Contract No. 53, in Southeast
<br />Code Enforcement Project E -7: Approval was requested for this
<br />Change Order with Barany Sheet Metal & Heating Company, for an
<br />increase in contract amount of $55.00, (Contract: $4,721.00),
<br />to amended contract amount of: $4,776.00, with no change in
<br />contract time,.for rehabilitation work at: 622 East Broadway
<br />Street.
<br />The change order is to replace the lavatory faucets and to repair
<br />the bathtub drain. The lavatory faucets are not repairable and
<br />if the tub drain were allowed to continue to leak, it would ruin
<br />the ceiling below. This work is at a cost of $85.00, and the
<br />$30.00 cost for reseating the fixtures is deleted, leaving a
<br />cost of $55.00 additional to the contract.
<br />The Chair asked Mr. Schaller if he had any further comment to
<br />make on this item, and Mr. Schaller advised this is one of the
<br />three contracts left to be completed in the E -7 Program.
<br />Motion was made by Mr. Wiggins, seconded by Mr. Cira and carried,
<br />for the approval of Change Order No. 2 to Rehabilitation Contract
<br />No. 53, for an increase in contract amount of $55.00, with
<br />Barany Sheet Metal & Heating Company, and amended contract total
<br />of $4,776.001, with no change in contract time.

<br />for rehabilitation work at: 537 North Euclid Avenue.
<br />The Chair asked Mr. Richard E. Pfeifer, Chief Inspector, on this
<br />Project, to comment. Mr. Pfeifer advised that the homeowner
<br />had a plumbing problem, and everytime the bathtub was used, water
<br />was leaking and running to the downstairs bedroom around the light .
<br />fixtures and the ceiling was about to collapse. A proceed order
<br />was issued immediately as the problem was creating a health and
<br />safety hazard for the occupants of the structure. The problem
<br />consisted of leaks from the bathtub drain line to the soil stack,
<br />leak from the water closet that is cracked at the base, leaks from
<br />the waste pipe that connects to the soil stack, and a leaking P -trap
<br />and drain line on the lavatory. A major portion of these pipes are
<br />concealed either in the floor or wall.
<br />The water closet, lavatory, lead waste and drain lines, sub floor
<br />were replaced, vinyl tile with waterproof adhesive installed, and
<br />eight square feet of drywall replaced under lavatory, and painting,
<br />were done in amount of $619.00.
