6. NEWIBUSINESS (Cont'd
ginal rafters were 2 x 4's themselves -- approximately two feet
on center - -which are pretty far apart. They should be 2 x 6's
or 2 x 8's.
Mr. Wiggins moved for the approval of Change Order No. 1 to Re-
habilitation Contract No. 47, with Ted Combs Decorating &
Construction Company, for an increase in contract amount of
$185.00, or an amended contract total of $2,211.40, with no
change in contract time, in the Southeast Project E -7. Motion
seconded by Mr. Donaldson and carried.
e. Change Order No. 2 to Rehabilitation Contract No. 50: Commis- CHANGE ORDER
sion approval was requested for this Change Order, with Barany NO. 2 TO
Sheet Metal & Heating Company, which is for an increase in con- CONTRACT NO.
tract amount of $470.00, (Contract: $6,455.50), or an amended 50 APPROVED,
contract total of:. $6,9`25.50, for rehabilitation work at: SOUTHEAST
621 East Keasey Street, Southeast Project E -7. PROJECT E -7
Mr. James L. Johnson, Jr., Chief Inspector, in his memorandum
reported that an inspection of this structure after the issu-
ance of the Notice to Proceed No. 65 revealed the need for
the additions, listed on the change order -eight (8) items
totalling $1,422.00. The nine (9) items deleted--totalling
$952.00- -did not present as serious a hazard to the homeowner
as would the additional items if this change order were not
approved. The $470.00 difference is an increase to the contract
with an amended contract total of $6,925.50.
Mr. Brownell advised this appears to be a case where the old
inspection wasn't valid and the re- inspection disclosed that
the additional items being requested are needed more than the
previous items. Mr. Ken Schaller passed photographs that were
taken of the hazardous conditions to the Commissioners.
Mr. Wiggins moved for the approval of Change Order No. 2 to
Rehabilitation Contract No. 50, with Barany Sheet Metal &
Heating Company, for an increase in contract amount of $470.00,
or an amended contract total of $6,925.50, with no change in
contract time, in the Southeast Project E -7. Motion seconded
by Mr. Donaldson and carried.
f. Change Order No. 2 to Rehabilitation Contract No. 51: Commis- CHANGE ORDER
sion approval was requested for this Change Order, with Barany NO. 2 TO
Sheet Metal & Heating Company, which is for a decrease in con- CONTRACT NO.
tract amount of $46.26, (Contract: $7,043.00), or an amended 51 APPROVED,
contract total of: $6,996.74, for specification change, at: SOUTHEAST
217 East Dayton Street, Southeast Project E -7. PROJECT E -7
Mr. James L. Johnson, Jr., Chief Inspector, advised in his:memo-
randum that the contractor - -as noted in his letter -- stated he
did not replace the door jambs as they were in good shape. Instead
he had the jambs painted two coats of paint and they look very
good, and the $46.26 deduction is in order.
- 5 -
