Johnson, Jr., Chief Inspector, in his memorandum reported that an inspection of this structure after the issu- ance of the Notice to Proceed No. 65 revealed the need for the additions, listed on the change order -eight (8) items totalling $1,422.00. The nine (9) items deleted--totalling $952.00- -did not present as serious a hazard to the homeowner as would the additional items if this change order were not approved. The $470.00 difference is an increase to the contract with an amended contract total of $6,925.50. Mr. Brownell advised this appears to be a case where the old inspection wasn't valid and the re- inspection disclosed that the additional items being requested are needed more than the previous items. Mr. Ken Schaller passed photographs that were taken of the hazardous conditions to the Commissioners.
