1.1 <br />7. <br />M <br />.BUSINESS (Cont'd <br />Change Order No. 3 t Rehabilitation Contract No. 27, Southeast <br />Project E -7: Commission approval was requested for this Change <br />Order, with Area Services Inc.," for,specification changes as <br />noted on the change order, with an increase'in contract amount <br />of $338.00, (Contract: $7,629.32), or an amended contract total <br />of: $7,967.32, for rehabilitation work at 708 East Broadway <br />Street, in the Southeast Project E -7. <br />Mr. James L. Johnson, Chief Inspector, Bureau of Housing, ad- <br />vised in his memorandum of March 15th, that the specifications <br />had called for the installation of 1 -1/2" cap on the front and <br />rear steps and the front porch deck. Area Services has suggested <br />that the two sets of steps be replaced because the cap will not <br />be adequate and may again cause the same problem in the future. <br />The front porch deck would be too costly to replace and should <br />be deleted since there is no structural 'danger at present. <br />The staff recommends the Change Order for approval. <br />The addition to the specification: <br />Front & Rear Steps: Tear out and replace <br />front and rear steps and install one 3 foot <br />wrought iron handrail on each. + $838.00 <br />Deletion: <br />Front & Rear Steps: Install 1 -112" <br />cap on front and rear steps and <br />paint two (2) coats. $250.00 <br />Front Porch Deck: Install 1 -1/2" <br />cap on deck, paint deck two (2) <br />coats. 250.00 - 500.00 <br />Increase in contract price .......................... $338.00 <br />Motion was made by Mr. Cira, seconded by Mr. Robinson and carried, <br />for the approval of Change Order No. 3 to Rehabilitation Contract <br />No. 27, with Area Services, Inc., for an increase in contract <br />amount of $338.00, or an amended contract total of $7,967.32, <br />with no change in contract time, in the Southeast Project E -7. <br />20�RESS REPORTS <br />CHANGE <br />ORDER 3 <br />TO REHAB. <br />CONTRACT <br />NO. 27 <br />APPROVED, <br />SOUTHEAST <br />PROJECT E -7 <br />There were no written reports for this meeting.
