9. ST.I PATRICK'S DAY FESTIVITIES -- RIVER BEND PLAZA Mr. Doug Simpson, Director, River Bend Plaza, reported on the St. ST. PATRICK'S Patrick's Day festivities held on the River Bend Plaza. He said DAY FESTIVI- they were very pleased and happy to have had the opportunity to TIES REPORT put on this type of program. They had fine participation on the part of the Irish in the com- munity. "We had some great talent down there - -real Irish talent- - and, as a matter of fact, we are looking forward to'Dyngus Day to give the other ethnic group their due." It Nas a great day for the Irish! The shamrock green water flow in the River Bend Plaza fountains was really beautiful. They are now thinking of having alternating red, white and blue water spray on all of the fountains for the July 4th festivities. Mr. Simpson said that the process of adding color to the water is very inexpensive and a very simple process. Mr. Dan Caesar, WSBT -TV Reporter, suggested using color at all times while the fountains are in operation, and that there were at least 300 to 400 people on the Downtown Plaza at one time, and many came to see the fountains with the green spray. The Presiding Chairman added it was a great day for the downtown Pla a. The weather was nice and the people are enjoying downtown. 10. NEXT COMMISSION MEETING The next Regular Meeting of the Redevelopment Commission will be NEXT COMMISSI Fri ay, April 2, 1976, at 10:00 a.m., in the Office of the Depart- MTG. 4 -2 -76 men of Redevelopment. 11. CHARGE OF DATE FOR APRIL 16, 1976, COMMISSION MEETING Per Bylaws, the next Commission meeting would fall on the third COMMISSION Friday of the month -- April 16, 1976 - -which is Good Friday and a MEETING SCHE- City Holiday. ANSWER DULED FOR may like to direct to our Commission at this time. APRIL 16 Consideration was requested to change the Commission meeting. It CHANGED TO: was suggested to schedule it for the following Friday, April 23, APRIL 23, 197 , at 10:00 a.m. The 23rd is also acceptable to our Chairman, 1976, AT who is absent today, Mr. F. Jay Nimtz, President. 10:00 A.M. The motion was made by Mr. Cira, seconded by Mr. Robinson and carried, to schedule the Commission meeting for Friday, April 23, 1976, at 10:00 a.m., in lieu of the Regular Meeting of April 16, 1976. 12.
