9. ST.I <br />PATRICK'S DAY FESTIVITIES -- RIVER BEND PLAZA <br />Mr. Doug Simpson, Director, River Bend Plaza, reported on the St. ST. PATRICK'S <br />Patrick's Day festivities held on the River Bend Plaza. He said DAY FESTIVI- <br />they were very pleased and happy to have had the opportunity to TIES REPORT <br />put on this type of program. <br />They had fine participation on the part of the Irish in the com- <br />munity. "We had some great talent down there - -real Irish talent- - <br />and, as a matter of fact, we are looking forward to'Dyngus Day to <br />give the other ethnic group their due." <br />It Nas a great day for the Irish! The shamrock green water flow in <br />the River Bend Plaza fountains was really beautiful. They are now <br />thinking of having alternating red, white and blue water spray on <br />all of the fountains for the July 4th festivities. Mr. Simpson said <br />that the process of adding color to the water is very inexpensive <br />and a very simple process. <br />Mr. Dan Caesar, WSBT -TV Reporter, suggested using color at all times <br />while the fountains are in operation, and that there were at least <br />300 to 400 people on the Downtown Plaza at one time, and many came <br />to see the fountains with the green spray. <br />The Presiding Chairman added it was a great day for the downtown <br />Pla a. The weather was nice and the people are enjoying downtown. <br />10. NEXT COMMISSION MEETING <br />The next Regular Meeting of the Redevelopment Commission will be NEXT COMMISSI <br />Fri ay, April 2, 1976, at 10:00 a.m., in the Office of the Depart- MTG. 4 -2 -76 <br />men of Redevelopment. <br />11. CHARGE OF DATE FOR APRIL 16, 1976, COMMISSION MEETING <br />Per <br />Bylaws, the next Commission meeting would fall on the third <br />COMMISSION <br />Friday <br />of the <br />month -- April 16, 1976 - -which is Good Friday and a <br />MEETING SCHE- <br />City <br />Holiday. <br />ANSWER <br />DULED FOR <br />may like <br />to direct to our Commission <br />at this time. <br />APRIL 16 <br />Consideration <br />was requested to change the Commission meeting. It <br />CHANGED TO: <br />was <br />suggested <br />to schedule it for the following Friday, April 23, <br />APRIL 23, <br />197 <br />, at 10:00 a.m. The 23rd is also acceptable to our Chairman, <br />1976, AT <br />who <br />is absent <br />today, Mr. F. Jay Nimtz, President. <br />10:00 A.M. <br />The motion was made by Mr. Cira, seconded by Mr. Robinson and <br />carried, to schedule the Commission meeting for Friday, April 23, <br />1976, at 10:00 a.m., in lieu of the Regular Meeting of April 16, <br />1976. <br />12.
