7. PROGRESS REPORTS (Cont'd <br />a preconstruction conference, one week later we will issue another <br />notice to proceed; another week another one; and then on the third <br />week, a final one, so we are talking about four (4) weeks in which <br />he would get all six (6) notices to proceed. <br />Commissioner Robinson said that is a vast improvement over what <br />was told us in the last Commission meeting. Mr. Crighton said, <br />"We have had a lot of organizational problems on this and this is <br />why we are constantly trying to change it, and the input from the <br />Commission is very important on this, because we really need to <br />make changes on these programs if we are going to get them going <br />the way they should be going, so any information and any suggestions <br />you make are always very seriously considered." <br />b.l Emergency Repair Program Report: <br />This monthly report for January was submitted as a written report EMERGENCY <br />by Mrs. Nyoka King, in which she advised: REPAIR <br />PROGRAM <br />Emergency repairs are proceeding throughout the City of South Bend. REPORT <br />Contracts 27, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36 and 37 were awarded this month. <br />Work will begin immediately. The total awarded contracts to date <br />is 37. A total of 13 final inspections were made and passed, giving <br />a total of 28 final inspections to date. <br />The Project is progressing well. <br />c.1 Relocation Progress Report: <br />This written report for the month of January was presented by the RELOCATION <br />two relocation staff members: PROGRESS <br />REPORT <br />Southeast NDP A -10: The workload is one (1) individual who has <br />moved into substandard housing and is waiting <br />for a vacancy in LaSalle Park Homes. <br />Model Cities Extended Services: The workload is one (1) individual, <br />who is in the process of securing replacement <br />housing. <br />City -Wide: One (1) second year Rental Assistance Payment <br />remains to be paid. <br />d. I Center City News: <br />This flyer was submitted to our office for distribution by Mr. Doug CENTER <br />Simpson, Director, River Bend Plaza Office. CITY NEWS <br />The flyer was prepared through the auspices of the Downtown South Bend <br />Council giving center city news by Mr. Simpson, upcoming events and <br />conventions; results of holiday shopping package; a report by Dr. <br />George A. Wing, Chairman, Mayor's Committee on Downtown Development, <br />outlining its enunciated goals and effective utilization of a viable <br />downtown; and other informational material. <br />- 16 - <br />
