7. PROGRESS REPORTS (Cont'd) <br />Our "Thanks" to the Chamber of Commerce and others for an <br />exceptional report. <br />8. GUEST INTRODUCED <br />Mr. John R. Kagel, Executive Director, Downtown South Bend Council, GUEST, <br />introduced his guest - -a co- worker at the South Bend- Mishawaka Area MR. RON <br />Chamber of Commerce, Inc., who is a replacement for Mrs. Campbell BOCK <br />wh has been working in Washington, D.C. - -Mr. Ron Bock. Mr. Bock <br />is a graduate of Indiana University at Bloomington and very talented <br />in his area of expertise. Mr. Kagel said he brought Mr. Bock to the <br />Co mission meeting today so that he may better understand the "wheels <br />of government in motion, as this Commission, because his work is <br />basically pounding on the doors of business firms throughout the <br />downtown area and we would like for him to get a little idea of how <br />this works. Mr. Bock will not be attending the meetings after this, <br />unless it would be for a special reason. Mr. Bock's one assignment <br />is the Center City News flyer mentioned above. <br />Mr. Bock advised South Bend did have their first winter carnival <br />anJ the various festivities were advertised in The South Bend <br />Tribune and it was very well covered -- treasure hunts, snow "slopes, <br />ski demonstrations, ice skating demonstrations, dogs -- including some <br />St Bernards. Most of the people who attended the festivities enjoyed <br />it very much, and it was, "I think" an added thing for the downtown <br />ar a. It was festive and very well received by the people there. <br />9. QT COMMISSION MEETING: <br />Th next Regular Meeting of the Redevelopment Commission will be NEXT <br />at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 20, 1976, in the Office of the Depart- COMMISSION <br />me t of Redevelopment.
