<br />advertised in The South Bend Tribune and Tri- County News on
<br />April 11 and April 18, 1975. The bid opening was at 10:00 a.m.,
<br />E.S.T., on May 14, 1975, in the Office of the Department of
<br />Redevelopment. The following bids were received and publicly

<br />Mr. Brownell said the recommendation by Patrick M. McMahon,
<br />Manager of the Bureau of Public Construction, recommends the
<br />Phase II -E Contract be awarded to the low bidder, Harry H.
<br />Verkler Contractor, Inc., in bid amount of $14,500.00. The
<br />unit prices total $14,501.19, but the total bid amount is
<br />$14,500.00.
<br />Motion was made by Mr. Wiggins, seconded by Mr. Wade and carried,
<br />that Phase II -E Contract be awarded to the low bidder, Harry H.
<br />Verkler Contractor, Inc., in bid amount of $14,500.00; subject
<br />to Legal Counsel approval and HUD Area Office approval, and if
<br />approved, the Commission President and Secretary authorized to
<br />enter into and execute contract.
<br />h! Chancre Order No. 1 to Rehabilitation Contract with Roseland
<br />Construction Co., Inc., R -57: Approval was requested for
<br />Change Order No. 1 to the Rehabilitation Contract we have with
<br />Roseland Construction Co., Inc., for an increase in contract
<br />amount of $1,402.88, for work at 309 South Iowa Street, in the
<br />LaSalle Park Urban Renewal Project, Indiana R -57, for an amended
<br />contract total of: $8,082.88. The change order covers the
<br />following work:
<br />1) Bathroom: remove ceramic tile around tub, and install new
<br />tile and reinstall shower doors;
<br />2) Kitchen: remove and replace kitchen carpet;
