4. COMMUNICATIONS (Cont'd <br />i. City Development Company letter dated April 2$; 1.975: This CITY DEVELOP - <br />letter is'from Mr. Allen E. Schrager, Partner of this firm, MENT COMPANY <br />addressed to Mr. F. Jay Nimtz, President of the Board of <br />Redevelopment Commissioners`, with copies to all the Commis- <br />sioners and Mr. Brownell. <br />This letter was not on the Agenda. Mr. Schrager requested the <br />communication be shown as received'; which is for approving the <br />proposed plans fo thE: Ri`ver..Bend Development Group and further <br />stating they own downtown properties as follows l) Commerce <br />Building, 2) JMS Building, 3)'JMS Building Annex, 4) Washington <br />and Michigan Building, 5`) 127 North Michigan Street, and 6) Michi- <br />gan and Wayne Building. <br />Mr. Schrager further says they own two properties which he states <br />would be required for the project, namely, the former American <br />National Bank Building at Michigan and Washington Streets and <br />127 North Michigan Street. <br />He states for the Redevelopment Commission to agree to acquire <br />these propE,rties for the River Bend Development Group would, <br />in effect, be giving them an option on his properties. <br />He said they would be willing to meet with the developer and dis- <br />cuss a sale; however, he requests the properties not be put on the <br />acquisition list. <br />Mot on was made by Mr. Wiggins that the above communications be received <br />and placed on file. Motion was seconded by Mr. Donaldson and carried. <br />5. OLDIBUSINESS <br />a. Suggestion for River Bend Plaza from River Bend Plaza Advisory <br />Committee: Mr. Louis N. Wilcox, Director, River Bend Plaza, said <br />that it had been the desire of the Commissioners that the River <br />Bend Plaza Advisory Committee make some determination as to which <br />one of the several plans presented for the development of the <br />remaining blocks would be favored by the Committee. At their <br />Advisory Committee meeting on May 6, Mr. Wilcox advised that. a <br />motion was made by Mr. Richard Russell of thE: Advisory Committee <br />that the Committee recommend immediate adoption of Plan "D" of <br />the presented alternatives, to include two, 30 x 30 stages, which <br />would be controlled by hydraulic lifts. The motion was seconded <br />by Mr. Allen Schrager, and passed by unanimous vote by the Com- <br />mittee. Those plans are in the office of Mr. Brownell now and <br />were displayed to the audience at the Special Meeting. <br />Commissioner Wiggins said that at the meeting that we held, an <br />indication was made that the public would be invited to attend <br />the River Bend Plaza Advisory Committee meeting, and asked if <br />there was any substantial participation on the part of the public <br />or others?
