The recommendation is to cut the joints open <br />and replace it with a vault - sealing material recommended <br />by the firm. <br />Mr. Brownell advised the material we used did not seal <br />the vaults properly and did not do the job. <br />b. River Bend Plaza Schedule Report, R -66: Mr. Karl King, RIVER BEND <br />Chairman, River Bend Plaza Advisory Committee, gave a PLAZA SCHEDULE <br />report in the absence of Mr. Louis N. Wilcox, Director, REPORT, R -66 <br />River Bend Plaza Office, who was attending a 'ribbon - <br />cutting ceremony for the grand opening of Azar's down - <br />town. <br />Mr. King advised Mr. Wilcox is working on his March acti- <br />vities program and will present it at the next Commission <br />meeting. Also, the River Bend Plaza Advisory 'Committee ap- <br />pointed Ms. Pat DeClercq, Clerk of the Board'of Works, as <br />Chairman of St. Patrick's day celebration, from 11:30 a.m. <br />to 1:30 p.m., on St. Patrick's day. This will be the first <br />time we have had any official celebration on that day and <br />we will get a great many things done. We will have good <br />cooperation from the businesses and will get enthusiasm <br />and cooperate with Notre Dame. <br />Mr. Kagel said this is the "Home of the Irish" and there <br />has been no official community function having to do with <br />St. Patrick's day. People have indicated who have come <br />into our town as visitors and were actually surprised our <br />City has nothing for that day. This is something that <br />could be a tradition. Mr. Ed Soltesz affirmed they are <br />hoping to have it on an on -going basis. <br />HUD Meeting, Thursday, February 27, 1975: Mr. Brownell <br />advised there will be a meeting, Thursday, February 27, <br />with HUD, in Indianapolis, to review the proposed Plaza <br />Park Contract 1, which was awarded by our Commission to <br />Arco Engineering Construction Corporation. This item was <br />previously discussed, under "Communications, 4a," above. <br />Mr. Brownell said he wanted the Commissioners to be aware <br />of this meeting and that we believe HUD will concur. He <br />had discussed the contract with Mr. Bassett (HUD Area Office <br />representative who did the work on this matter) and he had <br />agreed to hold the letter up. Mr. Fisher talked to them <br />and they advised the letter had been signed and mailed with- <br />out realizing it, and a meeting has now been set up to re- <br />view the matter Thursday.
