6. NEW BUSINESS (Cont' <br />Mr. Wiggins moved for the authorization of the above, with <br />a "vote of thanks for our sterling negotiator," seconded <br />by Mr. Chenney and carried. <br />7. PROGRESS REPORTS <br />a. River Bend Plaza Construction Report, Project Indiana RIVER BEND <br />R -66: PLAZA CONSTRUC- <br />TION REPORT, R -66 <br />Mr. C. Wayne Brownell, Executive Director, advised, <br />at this time of the year, not much is going on in con- <br />struction. <br />b. Acquisitions Outstanding: ACQUISITIONS <br />OUTSTANDING <br />Commissioner Wiggins inquired from Mr. Charles A. <br />Sweeney, Legal Counsel, what remains outstanding. Mr. <br />Sweeney gave a verbal report on the outstanding parcels <br />downtown that will be disposed of either by negotiating <br />or having the cases tried. Also discussed service drive <br />and alley to be vacated. <br />cl. Staff Reports: <br />1) Equal Employment and Affirmative Action Workshop EQUAL EMPLOYMENT <br />Seminar: & AFFIRMATIVE <br />ACTION WORKSHOP <br />Mr. Frank J. Alford, Assistant Director, E.E.O. SEMINAR, IN <br />Division, submitted a written report on this INDIANAPOLIS <br />Seminar he attended in Indianapolis, Indiana, on <br />January 27, 28 and 29, 1975. <br />Mr. Alford brought back pertinent information rela- <br />tive to personnel that he passed on to the Personnel <br />Office of the City; brochures relevant to civil <br />rights activities, etc., which he passed on to the <br />Human Rights Office. Mr. Alford felt in attending <br />this conference it has been of benefit not only to <br />his office, but to the other city offices as well <br />and be more productive in our areas of concern with <br />the information received. <br />2) Acquisition Status Report: ACQUISITION STATU: <br />REPORT, R -57, <br />The written report was submitted by Mr. William J. R -66 & MERRY AVE. <br />Parrish, Real Estate Officer, on following projects: <br />R -57: 382 Parcels purchased, 18 condemnation, with <br />one remaining to be acquired. <br />R -66: 226 Parcels purchased, 3 condemnation, with <br />three remaining to be acquired. <br />- 14 - <br />
