S REPORTS (Cont'd <br />The Festival of '75 Comittee, headed by Mrs. Gwen <br />Stiver, had two very interesting and well- attended <br />meetings relative to the celebration for the 4th, 5th <br />and 6th of July,.1975, on the River Bend Plaza in the <br />contiguous area. We had a very distinguished visitor <br />yesterday, Mr. Larry Conrad, at our meeting to see <br />what the state could add to our deliberations and <br />also what we could add to the state's activities for <br />the Bicentennial. <br />. Staff Reports: <br />1) Model Cities Code Enforcement, Project Ind. E -6: PROGRESS REPORT, <br />Mr. John Davis, Project Director, submitted a MODEL CITIES CODE <br />written report for the month of January. ENFORCEMENT, E -6 <br />In summary, the work is progressing well in the <br />E -6 Code Enforcement area. There are six (6) <br />contracts in effect for a total of sixteen (16) <br />structures. Three contractors are engaged in <br />the rehabilitation of these structures. <br />Initial inspections were started January 8th to <br />include the extended E -6 area. Financial data <br />is being compiled for bid opening No. 14. <br />Mr. Brownell advised the staff is making good <br />progress in this project. <br />2) Southeast Neighborhood Development, Project Ind. E -7: <br />Mr. Gene Stokes, Project Director, submitted a <br />written report for this project. <br />In summary, to date there are 75 applicants for <br />this project - -three applicants were disqualified <br />before home inspections were made due to program <br />guideline violations. Thus 72 homes were inspected. <br />46 applicants have been approved for grants by the <br />E -7 Advisory Committee. 12 homeowners have been re- <br />jected for a variety of reasons. Thus the Advisory <br />Committee has disposed of 58 cases at present. The <br />balance of the applications will be handled within the <br />next 30 days. <br />There have been 25 emergency repair cases. The total <br />amount of emergency repair work contracted is: <br />$5,213.19. <br />A total of 42 contracts have been advertised for bid, <br />with only 8 contracts for rehabilitation that could <br />be awarded.
