designating/locate paint marks to determine if all facilities shown on the Plans have been <br />identified in the field. If drawings and paint marks do not match, additional potholing may be <br />required to determine accurate locations. <br />6. Facilities exposed during potholing must be protected throughout the project. Exposed facilities <br />can shift or sag when the soil that was supporting and protecting the utility is removed. Utilities <br />that are rendered unsupported due to potholing should be temporarily supported by shoring or <br />other means. The utility should also be protected from heavy and sharp items falling into the <br />excavation which could crush or cut the facility. <br />7. After the underground utility has been located, the pothole should be restored within 24 hours or <br />as otherwise directed by the Owner. <br />8. All elements of pre-existing structures, including foundations and footings, shall be completely <br />removed without additional payment consideration. <br />2. Proposed removal of portions of the existing sanitary main under the existing culvert, associated <br />sanitary laterals and the sanitary manhole shall be performed in conjunction with the sanitary <br />bypass pumping operations. It is anticipated that the proposed doghouse manhole will be the <br />outlet for bypass pumping operations once this structure is installed and accepted. <br />3. Payment will be made under: <br />Pay Item <br />Pay Unit <br />Retaining Wall, Remove <br />EACH <br />Existing Culvert, 60 IN, Remove <br />LS <br />Sanitary Lateral, Remove <br />LS <br />Sanitary Manhole, Remove <br />EACH <br />Sanitary Pipe, 10 IN, Remove <br />LFT <br />SP-33. SANITARY LATERAL AND SEWER <br />A. State Specifications: None <br />B. City Construction Standards & Specifications: Section 3 <br />C. Additions: <br />1. This Pay Item shall include all work to pass sanitary discharges through the site, relocate and <br />reinstate sanitary lateral service from an existing 10inch sanitary main to a proposed 8-inch <br />sanitary main. <br />2.
