OOMMUNICATIONS (Cont'd <br />5. <br />Mr. Lennon advised this relates back to our earlier <br />discussion on this item in the Executive Session of <br />this meeting, with the public present, at 9:30 a.m., <br />and that as far back as last February, we filed a <br />request with HUD for approximately $2 Million to finish <br />the downtown area. $600,000.00 of that was requested for <br />relocation claims by public utilities.. As a result of our <br />latest correspondence, dated August 6, 1974, we have asked <br />HUD to render an opinion concerning the eligibility of <br />the relocation claims of public utilities. We received <br />a claim from Indiana Bell Telephone Company, Inc., dated <br />September 11, 1974, in the amount of $231,131.00, and <br />we are referring this to Commission Legal Counsel for <br />legal review. <br />in motion by Mr. Wiggins, seconded by Mr. Chenney and unani- <br />iously carried, the above letters were to be received and placed <br />in file. <br />LD BUSINESS <br />Public Hearing for the Southeast Neighborhood Develop <br />went Program, Indiana Project E-7: Mrs. Glenda Rae <br />Hernandez, Treasurer of t e Southeast Side PAC Committee; <br />Ms. Marzy Bauer, our Planner; Mr. Bill Ellison, our Staff <br />Director; and Mr. Hollis E. Hughes, Jr., Director of the <br />Bureau of Housing, are here to answer any questions on <br />the Public Hearing. In accordance with an ordinance <br />passed in June appropriating $438,000.00 for a Neighbor- <br />hood Development Program in the Southeast side, the <br />Redevelopment Commission is authorized to enter into <br />contracts to do all administrative work relating to <br />this Project, Indiana E -7. <br />Mr. Lennon advised that public notice was given on <br />September 6, and September 19, 1974, and at subsequent <br />Advisory Committee Board meetings at 7:30 a.m. - -on the <br />previous three Friday mornings - -that a public hearing <br />would be held on the following topics concerning policy <br />statements on eligibility requirements, income, family <br />size, age, and an emergency repair program for the <br />Southeast Side. The information has been forwarded <br />to the Redevelopment Commissioners prior to this meet- <br />ing. These were approved by the Advisory Committee on <br />September 6, 1974, and were approved by the Southeast <br />PAC Advisory Committee in their meeting last Wednesday <br />evening.
