Mr. Riley advised the payment we
requested was reduced to this amount to correspond
with the amount of actual cash needs to December
31, 1974.
A check, drawn on the Treasurer of the United States,
is to be mailed within a few days directly to the
depositary designated and authorized by our agency.
The check is to be recorded as a receipt in the
Project Temporary Loan Repayment Fund.
The approved HUD -6205 form, Request for Consent to
Transfer Funds, in amount of $1 Million, was enclosed,
to be attached to our counterpart of the Loan and Grant
contract.
Letter dated Au ust'22, 1974, from Mr. Garrett Mullins:
This letter, over the signature of Mr. Garrett Mullins,
President of the Southeast Side Neighborhood P.A.C.,
advises that at their regular P.A.C. meeting on August
219 1974, they discussed the progress of demolition on
the Southeast A -10 Project, addressed to Mr. Nimtz.
They feel we and the City Fire Department should be
more considerate toward the Southeast residents in
conjunction with their training exercise and suggested
that no structure which has been used for training
purposes should be left standing for more than
ten days, as this condition is hazardous.
They also have the same concern for the delay in demoli-
tion of long standing vacant structures, as the condi-
tion is also hazardous.
Mr. Lennon advised that we are not allowed by HUD regu-
lations to issue a notice to proceed to the demolition
contractors, until we do receive HUD approval and the
necessary insurance coverage for the contractors. All
of the houses are now down, with the exception of those
under condemnation.
- 7 -
PROJECT CAPITAL
GRANT PROGRESS
PAYMENT APPROVED,
CONTRACT IND.
R- 66(LG)
NDP PROJECT A -10,
SOUTHEAST SIDE
