NrW BUSINESS'(Con t'd) <br />Mr. Clem Hazinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic <br />and Lighting, requested restrictions be considered <br />and recommendations made, as the gate is installed, <br />but is kept open causing some congestion and confusion: <br />1) Roadway.should be blocked at all times <br />by means of the gate. <br />.2) Roadway to be designated as "one way <br />south." <br />3) Install signage on Colfax restricting turns <br />from street to the north. <br />4) Both sides of the roadway restricted to <br />parking and curbs painted yellow and supple- <br />mented with appropriate signage. <br />As part of the Redevelopment Department plans, recommenda- <br />tions to improve the situation is requested to be directed <br />to the Board of Works. The facility, as used, is especi- <br />ally hazardous to vehicles emerging onto St. Joseph Street. <br />1 <br />On motion by Mr. Wiggins, seconded by Rev. Williams and <br />unanimously carried, the above recommendations are to be <br />submitted to the Board of Works. <br />c Bus Shelters: Commission approval was requested to give NINE (9) <br />the nine 9T bus shelters to the Public Transportation BUS SHELTERS <br />Company to begin installing the shelters in the Plaza area <br />for public use. Mr. Lennon advised the Commission had pre- <br />viously given the Bus Company the approval to request the <br />shelters from us and this is to officially note that this <br />is being done. <br />This item was also discussed in the prior session. <br />On motion by Mr. Wiggins, seconded by Rev. Williams and <br />unanimously carried, the above request was authorized. <br />d Rehabilitation Work, R -57: Mr. Lennon advised we obtained REHABILITATION <br />two proposals to do t e work that is necessary to correct CONTRACT AWARDED <br />the rehabilitation work that has been done on homes for TO: CIRCLE <br />parcels 38 -16, 38 -17 and 38 -18, in the LaSalle Park Pro- LUMBER, INC., <br />ject, Indiana R -57: R -57 (PARCELS <br />38 -16, 38-17 <br />Al Batcho bid $ 11,758.00 & 38 -18) <br />Circle Lumber, Inc. bid 11,499.00 <br />Mr. Lennon advised the staff suggestion is that the award <br />of the three contracts go to the low bidder, Circle Lumber, <br />Inc., for the correction of the rehabilitation work, in <br />bid amount of $11,499.00. This completes the rehabilita- <br />tion work on all the complaints for R -57, with the excep- <br />tion of the Pope's. <br />-8- <br />
