McDonald's police their own area
and keep it clean. Mr. Lennon said this is a point well
taken and.we as a Commission and Board will find that from
our own experience that this will help.
Mr. Simpson also gave a report on the schedule of activi-
ties for the week of August 19 through 25 -- copies passed
out. The activities will be fantastic. "
2) River Bend Plaza Construction Schedule: CONSTRUCTION
SCHEDULE
Mr. Dan Akin gave a report on the schedule and advised
the items pending from The Hickey Company on Jefferson
and Michigan Street have not as yet been resolved and
that his report is the same as prior. We are having
problems with the pumps and motors in the pools, and
Hickey Construction is working on that with his sub-
contractors. We had an electrical problem - -the motor
burned out - -a problem of maintenance and operation,
which is covered by maintenance and bond by The Hickey
Company. Hickey is working with Colip Brothers and the
plumbing is what caused it. He stated they are press-
ing for repairing the situation. We still have their
retainage which is substantial.
Baer's Furniture Store on the vault- -the top is leaking.
Presently we are waiting for recommendation of the
supplier and cost from The Hickey Company before we
say how to pursue the matter.
Relative to Jefferson Street, everything is in good
shape. Still have a few items to do, which they are
proceeding on.
Mr. Akin said he spoke with Mr. Dave Burroff- -our
landscape architect - -last Thursday, and that outside
of pruning on Michigan Street, the pruning and wrapping
up on Jefferson Street, he is complete. Has cover work
on Jefferson Street to do, but that can be all done
in one day.
Mr. Akin said that Rieth Riley's allegation is that
there was not enough material; and that their allega-
tion is that there is enough thickness there and not
to have it cored. Presently negotiating with The
Hickey Company on this.
- 13 -
