7. <br />REPORTS (Cont'd <br />that there will be confusion when we have had three days <br />prior activities. <br />2. River Bend Plaza Advisory Committee Meetings: RIVER BEND PLAZA <br />Mr. L nnon advised that Mr. Louis N. Wilcox, Director, has ADVISORY COMMITTEE <br />been ery active. The Commissioners have minutes of the MEETINGS, R -66 <br />two m etings held: March 5 and March 12, 1974. <br />Mr. Jack E. Ellis has been appointed Chairman of this Com- <br />mitteE and he has accepted the Chairmanship. They are cur- <br />rentl meeting every Tuesday, at the Chamber of Commerce <br />Conference Room, at 1:00 p.m. The Committee has been sub - <br />divid d into Subcommittees: Budget, Security, Scheduling, <br />Maint nance, and Government Coordination. <br />Some cf the events for the River Bend Plaza have already <br />been scheduled: <br />a) Group called Wally Byam, who has a member- <br />ship of 25,000 people. There will be <br />3,500 plus trailers. This will bring in <br />approximately 10,000 to 12,000 people <br />at Notre Dame, between June 1 and July 4. <br />Wally Byam Day will be on June 27. <br />b) A square dance is scheduled on one of the <br />blocks. <br />c) Mr. Wilcox is working with a merchandise <br />group for specialized events in the stores. <br />3. Office at 112 South Michigan: Street: This is 112 SOUTH MICHIGAN <br />the Plaza Authority Office, which will be open and operative STREET OFFICE, R -66 <br />next week. Mr. Lou Wilcox extended an invitation to the <br />Commissioners and all the people who may wish to visit his <br />OffiCE or express their ideas. <br />Mr. Wilcox advised Mrs. Sandy Greenhut and the Bicentennial <br />peoplE will also have a desk in this River Bend Plaza Author- <br />ity Office. There will be better coordination among the three <br />groups. <br />A dan a group, called Caranveers, will be talking to the retail- <br />ers a d merchants. There will be all kinds of opportunities <br />for o tstanding people while these people are with us. <br />Mr. Terry Miller, Councilman, said on the report "office space" <br />was Mentioned, and he asked: "What is the budget of the River <br />Bend Plaza Authority ?" Mr. Lennon advised this is currently <br />being worked on by the Subcommittee membership on Budget. In <br />answer to Mr. Miller's other questions, Mr. Lennon advised that <br />Mr. L uis N. Wilcox was hired on a six -month term (between now <br />and S ptember 1), and the office is provided by the Department <br />
