Williams and unanimously carried. <br />e.1 NDP Project, A -10: <br />1) Southeast, SE #1: Mr. Lennon advised the Commissioners SOUTHEAST, SE #1, <br />have a three -page report in their packet, which he read, A -10 <br />which is a request to be presented to the City Council <br />by the PAC Committee for their proposal recommendation <br />for the First Action Year in the Southeast Side NDP <br />Area that was presented and accepted.by the neighbor- <br />hood residents. The proposals are: <br />a) The current clearance area (A -10) be used for park <br />land. <br />b) Surrounding homes able to sustain rehabilitation <br />be rehabilitated. <br />c) Scattered site housing be approved for vacant <br />areas in surrounding blocks. <br />d) That a commitment to better police protection <br />for this area be made. <br />e) That streets, curbs, sidewalks and lighting be <br />upgraded in this area. <br />f) That a three -year time table be established to <br />finish this proposal in an area from Sample to <br />Pennsylvania and Michigan to Fellows. <br />Each of the above items were explained in detail and <br />a copy of the signed proposal is attached to the offi- <br />cial minutes. <br />The Southeast Side PAC affirmed: <br />"We, the Southeast Side Neighborhood P.A.C., Inc. <br />believe that this is a sound proposal that will <br />effectively change the current decline of our <br />area and we seek support for this proposal. <br />"In addition, we pledge our full efforts in de- <br />veloping better community relations, and the re- <br />establishment of PRIDE so that our area will be <br />an example of what we can do with your help." <br />- 12 - <br />
