6. NEW OUSINESS (Cont'd <br />c. han a Order No. 8 to Phase II -C: This contract is <br />with Howe 1 Construction Company, and the change order is <br />for time xtension request for: <br />An extension from the present completion date <br />up to December 14, 1973. <br />A 30- calendar day extension in the spring of <br />1974 with a final completion date of no later <br />May 31, 1974. <br />Howell Co struction Company was unable to do the work on the <br />Service Drive. Mr. Lennon said this is a legitimate request <br />for time its the delay is our fault, not theirs. The Office <br />Engineers building on the old L.W.E. was not available for <br />demolitioti until a much later time than originally planned. <br />The pavem nt, curbs, walks and final cleanup will be done <br />within th 30 -day period in the spring. <br />On motion by Mr. Wiggins, seconded by Mr. Chenney and unani- <br />mously ca ried, Change Order No. 8 to Phase II -C, was approved <br />for time extension as noted above. <br />d. n -House En ineerin Work: Commission authorization <br />was reque ted to do in -house engineering work on Phase II -E, <br />R -66. En ineering studies necessary for the contract are: <br />SITE IMPROVEMENTS <br />DEMOLITION <br />onuments Streets <br />heel Chair Ramps Curbs <br />ault Replacement Sidewalks <br />urb Replacement Sewers <br />idewalk Replacement <br />This work w ll be done by the Department of Public Works and <br />will be c ordinated with the Redevelopment staff. <br />Mr. Lennor said it is anticipated by the Department of Housing <br />and Urban Development that the R -66 Downtown Project will be <br />completed by December 31, 1974. If legislation is passed <br />allowing is to resubmit a proposal for additional R -66 funds, <br />we are pr pared to do so; however, the outlook is not bright. <br />On motion by Mr. Wiggins, seconded by Mr. Chenney and unani- <br />mously carried, the in -house engineering work was authorized <br />on Phase I -E, R -66, per above. <br />e. lemolition and Site Clearance Contract No. 2, for MN #1 <br />and SE #1, Indiana Project A -10: Approval to advertise this <br />contract as requested which include: <br />) Six houses, one garage and two sheds MN #1 <br />) Three houses, two garages and one shed SE #1 <br />CHANGE ORDER NO. 8 <br />TO PHASE II -C, R -66 <br />IN -HOUSE ENGINEERING <br />WORK APPROVED, PHASE <br />II -E, R -66 <br />ADVERTISING APPROVED <br />FOR DEMOLITION AND <br />SITE CLEARANCE CONTRACT <br />NO. 2, A -10 <br />
