Mall Status: Mr. Lennon advised our staff will MALL STATUS, R -66 be delivering our January monthly schedule to the retailers today. Basically, the electricians will be doing the electrical switch installations in pits and vaults. The bricks are scheduled for arrival next week and work will be done under all'weather covers. The bricks will be placed around the planters as shown in the renderings. In front of Baer's the coving is being done; bushhammering the cement is also being done at this time. Bus Terminal Status: Two representatives from the BUS TERMINAL STATUS South Bend Public Transportation Corporation were present for discussion: Messrs. Harry E. Bartman and Pete Downs. Mr. Bartman said they received the consultants' re- commendations last Friday and they just reversed the original plans. They had planned to come in from the North and out from the South. Now it is the opposite. He said he believed the work can be done by January 14, twelve (12) days from now. They are planning to put up a three -sided tent - -20' x 30' - -and that a temporary shelter will be forthcoming. Delivery time on temporary shelters was stated to them to be three months to six months. They have been asked to consider the safety factor. The first suggestion was to get see - through Plexiglas. He said they can't let the people stand out in the cold. The buses will come in on Main, off Jefferson, and then North, and go out on North end of the lot on street out to Washington. Mr. Lennon said the Service Drive is 40 feet wide and they will be able to function both ways, and the parking lot on the corner can be worked out. - 7 -
