6. NOW BUSINESS (Cont'd <br />further request a 40 -foot curb cut with 10 foot radii at <br />station 15 +25 to station 15 +65 on new Columbia Street east <br />side and extending to the property line of Block 6. The <br />curb cut at East Monroe between L.W.E. and the St. Joseph <br />River viould remain intact. <br />Mr. Wiggins asked if we are putting in wheelchair access <br />on curb cuts? Mr. Lennon asked Bill Slabaugh if it is <br />specifically outlined; Mr. Slabaugh answered it is not <br />specifically outlined. Mr. Lennon instructed Bill <br />Slabaugh to add this on now and not have to back later. <br />Mr. Wiggins moved for approval of Change Order No. 12 to <br />Phase 1, R -66, with Rieth -Riley Construction Company, Inc., <br />for an increase in contract amount of $5,185.00, with the <br />stipulation the ramps be included for wheelchair access, <br />second ?d by Mr. Chenney and unanimously carried. <br />h. Shilts, Graves & Associates, Inc.: Commission <br />approval was requested for t ree 3 a ditional soil <br />borings, in LaSalle Park near Beck's Lake, R -57. <br />Mr. Le non advised we had previously requested two soil bor- <br />ings a d at 51 foot depth, they came up with muck land and <br />it was still deeper. We want them to float on more solid <br />ground and are requesting three (3) additional borings. <br />On motion by Mr. Wiggins, seconded by Mr. Chenney and unani- <br />mously carried, the additional three (3) borings were author- <br />ized. <br />i. Change Order No, 3 to Contract No. 5, R -66: Mr. <br />Lennon advised because of time factor, he authorized Change <br />Order No. 3 to Contract No. 5, with The Hickey Company, Phase <br />III, for an increase in contract amount of $7,391.72, R -66. <br />Hickey's representative, Mr. Michael Browning, said we would <br />also b receiving a letter for a decrease to the Contract in <br />the ne t two weeks. <br />Mr. Oesterling, our Engineering consultant, said these are <br />accumulative increases from the beginning of July 16th, in- <br />Volving: <br />1) Int r -City specifications allow either Lime - <br />sto a or slag. Limestone aggregate is re- <br />qui ed in all exposed concrete. <br />Lim stone aggregate in lieu of slag $ 650.40 <br />2) Eig t Type L Fixtures and eight lamps <br />spe ified on detail plans for Pool D, <br />omi ted on electrical details.
