6. NEW BUSINESS (Cont'd <br />d. Change Order No. 2 to'Phase III, Water Force Account: <br />This work is with the City Bureau of Water Supply, for an in- <br />crease in account of $8,800.00, R -66 Project, to relocate the <br />20-inch water main to allow construction of Pool Pit "D ", in <br />amount of $5,800.00, and to relocate and replace a 20 -inch <br />valve at Station 24 +33, in amount of $3,000.00, located in <br />front of Kresge's. <br />Mr. Lennon requested Commission approval to authorize the <br />South Bend Water Works to order these parts and if a portion <br />of this work is changed, we can cancel some of the parts and <br />not delay Water Works in the completion of this work. The <br />time involved to order these parts at a later date would de- <br />lay the project. When we turned in the Water Force Account <br />in January, the final plans were not submitted to our consult- <br />ing engineers and could not be included in our original Water <br />Force Account for Phase III. <br />The to al increase to our Water Force Account would be in the <br />amount of $8,800.00 and would allow for changes in the above <br />work a later determined. <br />On motion by Mr. Wiggins, seconded by Mr. Chenney and unani- <br />mously carried, Change Order No. 2 to Phase III, Water Force <br />Account, was approved for an increase in account of $8,800.00. <br />e. Resolution No. 461: This Resolution of the South Bend <br />Redevelopment Commission provides for the acceptance of the <br />lowest bid or bids in excess of the project temporary loan <br />intere t rate on the 5th day of September, 1973 and the ac- <br />ceptan a of a waiver by the U.S. Government with respect to <br />the Ne'ghborhood Development Project Indiana A -10, Third <br />Series, 1973. <br />Mr. Le non advised the interest rate has increased and our bid <br />and award is based on prior interest rate. The Government will <br />give a ditional money based on the interest rate, but we must <br />have a fully executed waiver by the Government for the Commis- <br />sion t ) accept.the additional funds. The acceptance of the <br />bids w-11 be on September 5, 1973, at 1:00 P.M., in this office, <br />for Project Indiana A -10 funding. The contract rate is 5 -1/4%. <br />If the private market will go above the 5 -1/4%, HUD will give <br />us additional grant to cover the difference.
