Williams & Associates, Inc. letter dated December 16th, along with the tabulation breakdown, the recommendation for the awards was as follows: 'art "A" -- Bituminous Pavement and Sewers. 'art "B" -- Concrete Curbs, Sidewalks, Signal Foundations and Conduits for Signalization. TO: ARCO ENGINEERING CONSTRUCTION CORPORATION, the lowest bidder of Part A and B ($17,837.73 lower than the next lowest bidder). art "C" -- Colfax Bridge Demolition and Replacement ddendum o. 1 -- Protection. of high Voltage Conduits. TO: RIETH -RILEY CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, INC., the lowest bidder of Part "C" and Addendum No. 1. ($19,936.38 lower than the next lowest bidder). The iocumentat1on submitted by the bidders has been re- view d and all four (4) bidders meet the required quali- fica ions for the performance of the work for which their bid roposals were submitted. Eight (8) contractors re- ceiv d plans and specifications. President Helmen asked if it wouldn't be better to award the contracts to one contractor, with the possibility that the contractors may be in each other's way. Mr. Muggy said the work is scheduled so there will not be any conflict. The retaining wall will be completed by the First part of March, 1972, while construction on Phase II -B will not take place until weather permits- - possibly not until April. The Colfax Bridge cannot be demolished, or rebuilt, until the street geometrics of Phase I are completed. It must be delayed to June or July of next year. President Helmen raised the question on service drives. Mr. luggy said the service drive from Washington to Colfax back of the Poledor Building will be deleted be- cause it will not be used at the present time. The entrance for the East -West service drive back of the St. oseph Bank and Penney's will be constructed. These are 'n the contract for Phase II -B. The balance of the -7-
