Williams & Associates, Inc. letter dated <br />December 16th, along with the tabulation breakdown, <br />the recommendation for the awards was as follows: <br />'art "A" -- Bituminous Pavement and Sewers. <br />'art "B" -- Concrete Curbs, Sidewalks, Signal <br />Foundations and Conduits for <br />Signalization. <br />TO: ARCO ENGINEERING CONSTRUCTION <br />CORPORATION, the lowest bidder <br />of Part A and B ($17,837.73 <br />lower than the next lowest <br />bidder). <br />art "C" -- Colfax Bridge Demolition and <br />Replacement <br />ddendum <br />o. 1 -- Protection. of high Voltage Conduits. <br />TO: RIETH -RILEY CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, <br />INC., the lowest bidder of Part <br />"C" and Addendum No. 1. ($19,936.38 <br />lower than the next lowest bidder). <br />The iocumentat1on submitted by the bidders has been re- <br />view d and all four (4) bidders meet the required quali- <br />fica ions for the performance of the work for which their <br />bid roposals were submitted. Eight (8) contractors re- <br />ceiv d plans and specifications. <br />President Helmen asked if it wouldn't be better to award <br />the contracts to one contractor, with the possibility <br />that the contractors may be in each other's way. Mr. <br />Muggy said the work is scheduled so there will not be <br />any conflict. The retaining wall will be completed by <br />the First part of March, 1972, while construction on <br />Phase II -B will not take place until weather permits- - <br />possibly not until April. The Colfax Bridge cannot be <br />demolished, or rebuilt, until the street geometrics of <br />Phase I are completed. It must be delayed to June or <br />July of next year. <br />President Helmen raised the question on service drives. <br />Mr. luggy said the service drive from Washington to <br />Colfax back of the Poledor Building will be deleted be- <br />cause it will not be used at the present time. The <br />entrance for the East -West service drive back of the <br />St. oseph Bank and Penney's will be constructed. These <br />are 'n the contract for Phase II -B.
