Business Relocation: Mr. Harrison M ller <br />advised the business relocation clat7ns before the <br />Commission this mornt'ng total $12,046,70, and in- <br />volve four completed moves and one dt''scontt''nuance. <br />Files are closed on the South Bend Parktng Company <br />lot at 430 S. Michigan, Schaefer's Bar and Grill, <br />Plast Ad, Inc. to Mishawaka, Good`Design Associates <br />to the Lafayette Building, and Witt Engineering. <br />The direct loss of property provisions were utilized <br />in three of the five - moves. The'total disbursement <br />under this settlement method came to $5,382.85. <br />The relocation summary report will be presented to <br />the C mmissioners at the January 15th meeting. <br />Relocation 'activities seem to be running smoothly. <br />We are now primarily concerned with businesses which <br />will e affected'by new street right -of- ways. <br />Annual Re'habi'li'tat°ion 'Report: Mr. -Ri -chard <br />Madis n, Reh abilitation Director, said HUD has approved <br />the A endatory Grant for R -57, as of December 2, 1970, <br />via ' hone. Area Plan prepared an Economic Rehabilita- <br />tion easibility Report for East and West Code Enforce <br />ment roject in Model Cities. 20 inspections are neces- <br />sary; 17 have been made. <br />In su marization, the following have been accompl- ished: <br />4 Owner rehabilitations to -bring <br />up to standard $ 219674.00 <br />5 HUD - assisted rehabilitations -190,926.00 <br />6 Grants approved 83,931.00 <br />8 Loans approved <br />Grant Total <br />59,350.00 <br />$ 355,881.00 <br />We ha a been interviewing individuals for inspectors <br />and f nancial advisors positions to be available in <br />the M del Cities area. This will.be a nine- month :on - <br />the -j b training period with the:inspectors and <br />finan ial advisors to work directly with the Depart- <br />ment. This will be a three - agency deal and-training <br />will be through Public Service Careers.
