7. PROGRESS REPORTS (Con V d) <br />Rev. Williams <br />asked Rev. Kirk - how he is coming <br />RELOCATION PROGRESS <br />along with <br />relocation and if it is about the same? <br />REPORT <br />Rev. Kirk <br />said his staff has been able to find <br />housin <br />for one of the large families. There has <br />been some <br />progress in City -wide relocation. The <br />large zpartments <br />of three and four bedrooms, north <br />on Fal <br />on Street, have been boarded up temporarily <br />for pr <br />tection of glass for insurance purposes. As <br />soon as <br />these units are available,-:they have appli- <br />cants vho <br />are qualified and-the families will be <br />moved. <br />Rev. Williams <br />asked Rev. Kirk if hehas any trouble <br />in getting <br />people relocated with'The Greater South <br />Bend Housing <br />Corporation? Rev., Kirk said if they <br />- <br />qualify, <br />he has no trouble. <br />Mr. Wiggins <br />asked Rev. Kirk-if his problem was in <br />City -wide <br />relocation, and as far as our projects <br />are concerned, <br />if they are in.good shape ?. Rev. Kirk <br />said our <br />projects present no difficulty. - The - problem <br />is with <br />City -wide relocation involving large families <br />with loa <br />or moderate income. <br />8. QUESTION <br />AND ANSWER SESSION; <br />Mrs. Allen <br />asked in reference to Mr. Hammerschmidt`s <br />QUESTION AND ANSWER <br />statement <br />on the condemnation of the two parcels <br />SESSION <br />where t <br />ese were located? Mr. Hammerschmidt advised <br />Parcel <br />qo. 19 -3, located at 202 E. Wayne Street, is <br />the old <br />Central Fire Station, now owned by Deejay, <br />Inc.; aid <br />Parcel'No. 20 -3, located at 312 South <br />Michigai <br />Street, owners being David and Bernice <br />Kempler. <br />Mrs. Allen said that it has been brought to her <br />attention that some of these appraisals being of- <br />fered a e below the assessed valuation of the <br />propert on which the people have been paying <br />taxes'.
