7. PRQGRESS REPORTS (Cont`d <br />Rev. Williams asked Rev. Kirk how he is coming RELOCATION PROGRESS <br />along with relocation and if it is about the same? REPORT <br />Rev. K rk said his staff has been able to find <br />housing for one of the large families. There has <br />been some progress in City -wide relocation. The <br />large zpartments of three and four bedrooms, north <br />on Fal on Street, have been boarded up temporarily <br />for pr tection of glass for insurance purposes. As <br />soon as these units are available, they have appli- <br />cants vho are qualified and the families will'be <br />moved. <br />Rev. Williams asked Rev. Kirk if he has any trouble <br />in getting people relocated with fte<Greater South <br />Bend Housing Corporation? Rev.._Kirk said if they <br />qualify, he has no trouble. <br />Mr. Wiggins asked Rev. Kirk-if his problem was in <br />City -wide relocation, and as far as our projects <br />are concerned, if they are in -good shape? Rev. Kirk <br />said our projects present no difficulty. - The - problem <br />is with City -wide relocation involving large families <br />with to or moderate income. <br />8. Mr. Hammerschmidt advised <br />Parcel qo. 19 -3, located at 202 E. Wayne Street, is <br />the old Central Fire Station, now owned by Deejay, <br />Inc.; aid Parcel No. 20 -3, located at 312 South <br />Michigai Street, owners being David and Bernice <br />Kempler, <br />Mrs. Allen said that it has been brought to her <br />attention that some of these appraisals being of- <br />fered are below the assessed valuation of the <br />property on which the people have been paying <br />taxes. An example, if pe' le are paying taxes on <br />$10,000 we should not co ,up with an appraisal <br />offe�rin of $9,QQ0 This_ not fair.
