5. NSW BUSINESS (Cont'd <br />The uhi t <br />1) Ronald E. Gettel <br />2) North Central Appraisal Company, <br />by Mr. John Pence <br />3) Urban Research Associates, <br />by Dr. Edwin M. Rams <br />value for buildable property is about 8� <br />per s uare foot, and unbuildable property at 2.7� <br />per s uare foot. These prices are the averages <br />of th three disposition appraisals. Mr. Helmen <br />inqui ed as to how this compared with the previous <br />avera e, and Mr. Bellinger stated that it remains <br />about the same. Many of these lots were appraised <br />prior to the soil testing, and were later deter- <br />mined not buildable. The original appraisals did <br />not have an alternate value; now the unit value <br />is based on whether it is buildable or unbuildable. <br />On mo iun by Mr. Helmen, seconded by Mr. Wilhelm, <br />autho ization was granted to submit the disposi- <br />tion prices to HUD for approval. Approval was <br />unanimously passed. <br />6. PROGRESS REPORT <br />a Chapin Street Urban Renewal Project, R -29: <br />Sched ling final close -out of this project. <br />b LaSalle Park Urban Renewal Project, R -57: <br />The D molition Contract No. 5 should virtually com- <br />plete all demolition work in this project. Bid open- <br />ing f r this demolition work will be on Wednesday, <br />July 0, 1969, at 1:00 P.M., E.D.T. Landscape Improve- <br />ments Contract "H ", was approved previously and the <br />contr cts signed today by Commission President, and <br />this ork will begin in September, during the planting <br />seaso . <br />Alley paving will definitely be underway next week and <br />all h ve been graded and properly backfilled. <br />Greater South Bend Housing Corporation is moving along <br />with TO further delays. Occupancy should begin some- <br />time this month. President Wiggins inquired on the <br />sidinc of the building and whether they will be finished <br />natur 1, painted or left to weather. Rev.
